Ladies and gentlemen, will you please stand? Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are engaged to be married, the couple announced Tuesday in a joint Instagram post.
“Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,” read a caption on the photos of Kelce, tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, kneeling on one knee before the Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter in a garden full of flowers.
Swift is sporting a massive diamond in the carousel of images, and it’s no paper ring. Scott Friedman, master gemologist appraiser at the International Gemological Institute, told HuffPost that the engagement ring “appears to be an elongated cushion modified brilliant cut, weighing approximately 10-15 carats, set in a custom-made antique-inspired 18k yellow gold ring.”
Kelce worked with Artifex Fine Jewelry to design the ring, Vogue reported.
The ring likely costs anywhere from $125,000 to $175,000, estimated Jared Jewelers’ vice president of merchandising, Ann Grimmett.
