Two months after the cold-blooded murder of 16-year-old Trey Wright in remote South Carolina, his family and friends accuse his teenage girlfriend of instigating the tragedy – but still have no clue of her motive.

Wright's mother, Ashley Lindsey, and his best friend, Ethan Kirby, 18, told Daily Mail slightly differing accounts of what led up to the June 24 shooting of Wright – but both pointed fingers at 17-year-old Gianna Kistenmacher, one of nine teens from the Myrtle Beach area arrested and charged with murder.

Kistenmacher, who had been dating Wright for only a few weeks, had been introduced to him by Devan Raper, 19, of Conway, South Carolina, who had met Wright at the beach during spring break. Raper was allegedly the triggerman.

'I believe she just wanted them to fight, not for it to end this way,' Kirby told Daily Mail. 'It was all a childish act that turned real.'

Raper, who was arrested last year on charges of driving another man to a location where he allegedly opened fire on a group of teenagers, is currently being held at the Florence County Detention Center without bond.
