Boiler Plant police in Tiruchi district have registered a case under the provisions of the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act against Asit Kumar Barma, Director, Bharathidasan Institute of Management (BIM), Tiruchi, on a complaint from an Assistant Professor belonging to the Scheduled Caste community who was on probation at the institute from 2021 to 2023.
The assistant professor, C.N.S. Ramnath Babu, in a complaint had accused Barma of isolating, harassing and boycotting him ever since the latter came to know that he belonged to the Scheduled Caste.
