Britain would pay the Taliban to take back migrants to Afghanistan under Reform UK's plans for mass deportations of asylum seekers, the party said today.
Zia Yusuf, one of Reform's most senior figures and the party's former chairman, said it was 'quite reasonable' for taxpayers' cash to go to the Islamist regime in Kabul.
Under proposals unveiled this morning by both Mr Yusuf and party leader Nigel Farage, Reform vowed to deport 600,000 asylum seekers if they win power.
The party's plans, titled 'Operation Restoring Justice', would see anyone who arrives in the UK illegally, such as via small boats across the Channel, detained and deported.
Reform pledged to scale up detention capacity for asylum seekers and secure deals with nations such as Afghanistan, Eritrea and Iran to return migrants to their countries.
