A Reform UK government would pay the Taliban to accept the return of migrants who entered Britain illegally, Zia Yusuf has said.

Nigel Farage will give a speech on Tuesday morning alongside Mr Yusuf from an aircraft hangar in Oxfordshire, outlining his party’s proposals for the mass deportation of illegal immigrants.

Writing in The Telegraph on Tuesday, Mr Farage said a Reform government would seek to negotiate return deals with countries such as Afghanistan and Eritrea, despite claims that they have committed human rights abuses.

Asked how Reform would persuade countries to take back illegal migrants, Mr Yusuf told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme: “We have a £2 billion budget to offer countries”.

The party’s head of department of government efficiency said the figure is “not a drop in the ocean to Afghanistan. It’s certainly not a drop in the ocean to Eritrea. The two countries that are at the top of the list of boat crossings”.
