The police nabbed 13 persons with lethal weapons and ganja during the surprise vehicle check conducted in the areas under Thaalamuthu Nagar police station limits on Monday night.
According to Superintendent of Police Albert John, eight check-posts were created in the areas under Thaalamuthu Nagar police station limits on Monday night as this area on town outskirts witnessed spurt in criminal activities. ASP, Thoothukudi, Madhan and three Inspectors of Police coordinated the operation in which 91 police personnel were deployed.
