After more than six months on the run, the suspect was intercepted by mainland Chinese authorities and handed over to Hong Kong police

Hong Kong police have arrested another person in connection with a brutal attack on a prison officer outside a correctional facility in Sai Kung last year, bringing the total number of suspects to 14.

The arrest, made on Monday, involved a man who had reportedly fled to mainland China following the incident. After more than six months on the run, he was intercepted by mainland authorities and handed over to Hong Kong police.

At about 4.10pm on Tuesday, the suspect, wearing a black hood and with his wrists cuffed, was escorted by multiple officers back to Pik Uk Prison on Clear Water Bay Road for a crime scene reconstruction.
