A 37-year-old has been charged with the murder of a 'cherished daughter, family member and dear friend' who was found dead on a quiet street.
Niwunhellage Dona Nirodha Kalapni Niwunhella, 32, known as Nirodha, died after being 'seriously injured' on a road in Cardiff on Thursday morning.
Paramedics attended the scene on South Morgan Place in Riverside at 7.37am, but despite their best efforts Nirodha was pronounced dead at the scene.
Thisara Weragalage, of Pentwyn, 37, has been charged with her murder and remains in custody. He is scheduled to appear at Cardiff Magistrates Court today.
It comes after Nirodha's heartbroken family released a touching tribute following her death earlier this week.
