Two people are missing after heavy rains and flash floods hit Tharali in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand in the intervening night of Friday (August 22, 2025) and Saturday (August 23, 2025). Several homes have also been washed away.
The Indian Army’s Infantry battalion promptly responded to the devastation caused by heavy rain and flash floods in Chamoli on Saturday (August 23, 2025). Around 50 Army personnel were deployed from Rudraprayag to assist in relief operations, according to a statement.
