U.S. Defense Chief fires general whose intel on Iran strikes angered Trump

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has fired Lt. Gen. Jeffrey Kruse, head of the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), after his agency's initial intelligence assessment on damage to Iranian nuclear sites reportedly angered President Donald Trump, according to two people familiar with the decision and a White House official, in a report by The Associated Press.
