The Belthangady Police have booked activists Girish Mattannavar, T. Jayanth and others for the offences of unlawful assembly, criminal intimidation against police officers and obstructing the police from performing their lawful duty on Friday (August 22, 2025).
Brahmavar Police Sub-Inspector Ashok Malabagi in his complaint to the Belthangady police on August 21, said that Mr. Mattannavar and others obstructed his team when the police went to arrest activist Mahesh Shetty Thimarody for his defiance of repeated notices to appear before the police in connection with a case of alleged derogatory comments against a BJP leader.
