Fox News host Jesse Watters says Democrats need “a daddy” to compete with the GOP.Watters has long shared curious advice with his viewers on what men “should never” do, but focused on President Donald Trump’s political opponents Wednesday — and said Democrats “ran two moms and a grandpa and they need to run a daddy” in 2028.The “Five” co-host was referring to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, ex-Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Joe Biden. The first two candidates respectively lost elections to Trump in 2016 and 2024, while Biden beat him in 2020.Watters suggested only “masculine policies” could beat the GOP in 2028.“In order to have masculine policies, you need to live your life as a man,” he said. “You need to live a life of action and you have to live it outdoors. And the first step is having your own compound. Every presidential candidate, or president, needs their home base.”“Trump had Trump Tower,” Watters continued. “He’s got his golf courses, he’s got the White House now. You call people in, you hold court, you control everything — that is what they need. Now, I don’t know why they don’t have that, maybe they’re ashamed of it.”Trump has certainly infused his presidency with the flair of an aristocrat, redecorating the Oval Office in gold and golfing away during various crises. Watters was presumably convinced that such displays are comforting for America’s embattled working class.“The problem is there’s no dads inside the party,” he said Wednesday about the Democrats.Watters: In order to have masculine politics and you need to live your life as a man. Gavin Newsom (D-Calif.) for not holding court in his vineyard, suggesting that doing so would help him appear more confident, before sharing some more of his “masculine” advice for the California Democrat.“Why doesn’t he bring in the press to his vineyard and look beautiful outside with all the grapes?” he said. “That’s how you do it. Americans love to drink wine. Newsflash, Newsom — go to the vineyard, hold a press conference and act like you’re a man of the people.”Watters argued that former Presidents Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush holding court at their ranches proved they were powerful “men of leisure,” before vowing to “shoot myself” if Democrats hold “another press conference with a mariachi band.”He was referring to Boston’s Democrat Mayor Michelle Wu and her press conference Tuesday, in which she condemned the Trump administration for threatening city officials if they don’t cooperate with the government’s ongoing mass-deportation efforts. Newsom might well run for president in 2028, but is unlikely to take advice from Watters. The pundit has previously argued men should never use Photoshop or help their wives at the grocery store, and even instructed his viewers on how “real men” should wave. His latest advice and calls for a “daddy” are similarly drawing baffled reactions online.Jesse Watters says masculine politics requires a compound—Trump Tower, golf courses, the White House. That’s not masculinity, that’s Monopoly with bad hair. If your idea of ‘living outdoors’ is a cart ride between holes at Bedminster, you’re not Hemingway, you’re just a landlord…— Nate Lichtman (@27KeysToTheRace) August 20, 2025 Least masculine thing I've EVER heard said.— JB Thinkin™️ 🏴☠️ (@JBThinkin) August 20, 2025 Is Watters okay? He seems very worried about looking like a manly man.— Colorado Moderate (@ColoradoMod) August 20, 2025 Watters is as funny as a flat tire. He also has this weird “trump as daddy” thing going on - WTF is that about? The democrats are the only grown ass adults in the room. WE don’t need a daddy.— She Wolf (@RapierDiva) August 21, 2025 Close
