A 55-year-old dispute pertaining to reserve forest land in Simhachalam Kandriga village in Srikalahasti mandal of Tirupati district was solved amicably to the mutual satisfaction of all the stakeholders.
The dispute arose after local dwellers were issued pattas in 1970 which were, however, cancelled by the then District Collector in 1978. Around 98 families were issued pattas once again for the 139 acres of reserve forest land in 1998, forcing the Forest Department to flag objection and seek cancellation of the same.
