The Minister for Backward Classes Welfare Siva V. Meyyanathan on Thursday gave away a battery operated wheelchair worth ₹1.05 lakh to R. Gopinath, a person with disability suffering from muscular dystrophy, who had cleared the Group IIA TNPSC examination and selected for the post of Senior Inspector in the Department of Cooperation.
Mr. Meyyanathan met Gopinath of Kallangudi village in Alangudi taluk and conveyed his wishes to him while handing over the battery operated wheelchair given through the Department for the Welfare of Differently Abled Persons.
