Telangana High Court on Thursday (August 21, 2025) adjourned to Friday the hearing of two writ petitions filed by Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) supremo and former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao and his former Cabinet colleague T. Harish Rao seeking to quash the report of Justice (Retired) P.C. Ghose’s judicial Commission which inquired into irregularities of Kaleshwaram project’s execution. While the counsels for the two petitioners wanted the High Court to restrain the State government from initiating action against their clients based on the Commission’s report, the government counsel wanted to dismiss the petitions since it was yet to be tabled in the Assembly and be discussed by the legislators. After hearing extensive arguments by the counsels for the petitioners and the government counsel for over two hours, the bench of Chief Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh and Justice G.M. Mohiuddin sought to know if the government would only table the report in the Assembly, or would initiate action based on the report and place both the Commission’s repot and the action taken report together in the Assembly. Advocate General A. Sudarshan Reddy, replying to the query from the bench headed by the Chief Justice, said he would require time to secure instructions from the government on the point. The bench then posted the hearing to Friday, after asking the AG to get details of the government’s stand on the point. Published - August 21, 2025 04:07 pm IST
