Captain Shubhanshu Shukla, the first Indian to visit the International Space Station (ISS), where he spent a little over two weeks, said that witnessing and being part of a human space flight mission gives a lot of “intangible information” that went beyond what was being documented in reports or books.“This information is extremely valuable for the human space flight mission that we are starting [in the form of the Gaganyaan mission currently scheduled for mid-2027],” he said in his first press conference here since he returned to earth on July 15. “ We have the perspective of the Russian and the U.S. side and that will be very valuable.”Shubhanshu Shukla meets PM Modi; gifts tri-colour that travelled to spaceHe said that in his multiple interactions from orbit, with the public in India, he fielded questions from children who wanted to know how to become an astronaut. “If I can go to space, anyone can go, and now we have young people who are asking these questions,” he added.
