The State government informed the Kerala High Court on Wednesday (August 20, 2025) that a draft of the Kerala Film Policy would be finalised in three months’ time.
This would be followed by a legislation in this regard, the government informed a Division Bench of Justice A.K. Jayasankaran Nambiar and Justice C.S. Sudha hearing the petitions on the K. Hema Committee report. It further submitted that suggestions made at a recently held Kerala Film Policy Conclave have been posted in the website of the the Kerala Chalachitra Akademi, among others. People from different sectors can post their suggestions on this before August 25. The proposed film policy will be readied after taking into account these suggestions as well. The policy would subsequently be placed before the Legislative Assembly.
