Italy's Coaches' Association sent a letter on Tuesday to the president of the Italian soccer federation, urging him to take action and temporarily suspend Israel from international competitions, citing Israel's war in Gaza.

The report, first revealed by Italian news agency ANSA, comes less than a month before Israel's national team plays Italy in a World Cup 2026 qualifier. The two teams are set to meet for two matches, the first in Romania on September 7, and the second in Italy on October 14.

The letter beckons the local soccer federation to address both the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) and FIFA (International Federation of Association Football) to act upon the ban.
