The INDIA bloc has decided to commonly field retired Supreme Court judge B. Sudershan Reddy as the candidate for the upcoming Vice-President elections. The decision was taken unanimously, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge said in a press conference on Tuesday (August 19, 2025). Leaders belonging to the INDIA bloc also took part in the press conference held in New Delhi.
Test skipper Shubman Gill was on Tuesday (August 19, 2025) appointed as the vice-captain, while pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah was also included in India’s 15-member T20 squad for the Asia Cup starting September 9 in the UAE. Gill’s last T20 match was against Sri Lanka at Pallekele in 2024 and he has now replaced Axar Patel as the deputy of skipper Suryakumar Yadav.
