A 42-year-old man jumped into the Musi River from the Chaderghat bridge on Monday evening and was swept away by strong currents triggered by continuous rainfall. The Kachiguda police booked a case.

The victim, identified as Mandugula Kiran Goud, parked his two-wheeler, on the bridge before leaping into the river at around 5.30 p.m. Police said his body has not yet been traced, and search operations with the help of frogmen divers have been launched, said the Inspector of Kachiguda police, T. Jyothsna.
