A Waitrose worker who took part in a demonstration outside a hotel housing asylum seekers has been warned he is likely to be jailed.
Dean Smith was one of several men to have appeared in court charged with violent disorder following protests outside the Bell Hotel in Epping, Essex.
The three-star hotel has been at the epicentre of a wave of protests after an Ethiopian migrant who was housed there was charged with sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl last month.
A second man residing at the hotel was also charged with a litany of offences including sexual assault last week following an unrelated, separate incident.
On Monday, a series of separate hearings took place at Chelmsford Crown Court involving people alleged to have gone to the area during the protests last month.
