Deputy Commissioner T.K. Swaroopa, on Monday, directed Udupi City Municipal Council to issue notices to the owners of 58 commercial buildings who have diverted their parking lots for other purposes and take action as per law.
Chairing the district road safety committee meeting at Rajatadri, the district office complex in Manipal, the DC said that because of the diversion of parking space, customers as well as shop owners were parking their vehicles on roads, thereby affecting smooth vehicular movement. The administration has received many complaints in this regard.
