The Lokayukta police on Thursday made a surprise visit to the offices of the Udupi City Municipal Council (CMC) following public complaints about several applications being kept pending for a long time without being disposed of.A team of police personnel from the Mangaluru Division, led by Udupi Lokayukta Police Inspector Manjunath, visited several sections of the CMC and verified the status of pending applications, the time taken for their disposal, and the overall administrative functioning.The Lokayukta police had received multiple complaints from the public alleging that applications submitted to certain departments were lying unattended for long periods without any valid reason. Acting on these complaints, the police inspected file management systems, reviewed the implementation of public services, and collected information regarding delays in processing applications.Meanwhile, CMC officials cooperated with the investigation and provided the required files sought by the Lokayukta team for verification.
