A 13-year-old boy from Missouri who miraculously survived a 240-foot fall and spent days without food or water at the bottom of a ravine has now woken up from his 11-day coma.

Dakota 'Cody' Trenkle Jr. was rushed to hospital and placed in a medically-induced coma after being found with serious injuries two weeks ago.

Cody was first reported missing on July 27 near Goose Creek Lake after he left home on his skateboard to visit a friend's house. When he never arrived, his family became worried and got local law enforcement involved.

A search party was launched and for over 80 hours volunteers, family members and members of the St Francois County Sheriff's Department searched the dense woods and steep ravines for the boy.

On July 30, Cody's brother found his skateboard and a K-9 named Daryl was able to track the scent to a 240-foot elevation drop.
