13-year-old Sai Prakash of Uthamapalayam in Theni district, who suffered head injury on August 8 after a javelin thrown by a youth hit him succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday.Sai Prakash was practising football in the playground while 19 year old Thipesh of Gudalur, a college student was practising javelin throw on the same ground. Thipesh, a student at a college in Chennai, had come home on leave.The police said that Sai Prakash was studying in Savarippa Udayar Memorial High School in Rayapanpatti near Uthamapalayam. He was a hosteler. On August 8, after school hours, he was practising football at Rayapanpatti playgrounds and Thipesh was practising javelin throw.During the practice session, it was said that the javelin thrown by Thipesh hit Sai Prakash on his head. Immediately, he was rushed to Cumbum Government Hospital. After first-aid, he was referred to Theni Government Medical College Hospital for treatment.
