St. Philomena College (Autonomous), Puttur, observed National Librarians’ Day on its premises on Tuesday to mark the 133rd birth anniversary of Dr S.R. Ranganathan, who is called the father of Library Science Movement in India.
Nemichandra Gowda, retired associate professor of Kannada, Pompei College, Aikala, was the chief resource person. Calling the library “the very heart of any education system,“ he urged students to frequent it, read widely and avoid addiction to mobile phones.
