Opposition MPs, including Leaders of Opposition Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge, took out a protest march on Monday (August 11, 2025) from Parliament House to the Election Commission against the revision of electoral rolls in Bihar and alleged “vote chori” but were stopped midway by the police and detained amid high drama. They were later whisked away by police in buses lined up along the road and taken to the Parliament Street Police Station. All the MPs were later released.

The revised Income Tax Bill 2025 and Taxation Laws (Amendment) Bill was passed in the Lok Sabha on Monday (August 11, 2025) without debate and amid chants by the Opposition. They also passed the National Sport Governance Bill, 2025, and National Anti-Doping Amendment Bill, 2025, even as the Opposition continued their protests against the SIR exercise in Bihar and the alleged vote fraud. The Rajya Sabha also passed a bill to provide reservation to Scheduled Tribes (STs) in the Goa Assembly. The Merchant Shipping Bill, 2025, was also approved, with the Rajya Sabha passing it with a voice vote.
