Four members of a family were killed while seven others were seriously injured in a road accident near Chakicherla in Ulavapadu mandal of SPSR Nellore district in the wee hours of Saturday (August 09). The injured persons were immediately admitted into Kavali area hospital. Two critically injured were shifted to Nellore Government General Hospital (GGH) for better treatment.
According to the police, the accident occurred when a group of family members were going to Tirumala from Piduguralla. Their van was hit by a truck near Chakicherla. Two died on the spot, another person succumbed to injuries while being shifted to the hospital and another passed away undergoing treatment. The victims were identified as the residents of Kothaganesunipadu village in Machavaram mandal of Palnadu district.
