A group of evil loan sharks killed a woman's five-year-old son after holding the boy hostage over the paltry $53 she owed them.
The child, identified only as Fernando, was found dead of severe head injuries at a home in La Paz, Mexico on Monday.
Three months earlier, his mother, Noemí Gómez, had borrowed 1,000 pesos - or roughly $53 - from the group to cover the rent on her new home.
The trio of loan sharks paid a visit to her home on July 28 and snatched Fernando, informing Gómez that they were going to hold the boy hostage until the debt was settled.
Gómez visited the residence where she thought her son was being held captive several times.
