Pursuing a house break theft in Indiranagar reported in June this year, the Indiranagar police arrested notorious gangster Bombay Saleem, after a hot pursuit in Pune, recently. He was brought to the city for further investigation and his mobile phone seized. While checking his mobile phone, police were shocked to find a photo of gangster Saleem in a police constable’s uniform and questioned him.
Saleem confessed that he was arrested by Govindapura police about an year ago in a burglary case and was taken out of station with a police escort for a recovery. A police constable identified as H.R. Sonar had stayed with Saleem in a hotel and had gone out leaving his uniform behind. Saleem wore the uniform, made a video call to his wife before taking a selfie, it was revealed.
