Police shot dead Manikandan, accused of murdering a Sub-Inspector, after he attempted to escape, ending a manhunt.
Police on Thursday (August 7, 2025) shot dead Manikandan, the main accused in Tuesday night’s murder of Special Sub-Inspector Shanmugavel at Gudimangalam village in Tiruppur district.
Police said Manikandan was shot at in “self defence” when he attempted to escape after stabbing a Sub-Inspector while being taken to the scene of crime.
