Father Ibrahim Faltas, the Custodian of the Holy Land, expressed shock on Tuesday at the possibility that Israel could occupy Gaza.

"They have the right to live, they have the right to exist as a people and as a recognized state.

"Anyone who does not recognize this must be held responsible and complicit in a massacre.

"Hunger, thirst, heat, the lack of healthcare and of every essential commodity, and the threat of losing one's land are grave burdens on the world's conscience.
