There can no longer be any doubt today that Palestinians in Gaza are suffering severe privation and at least localized starvation, even if Hamas continues to manipulate the crisis to its own abhorrent and cynical ends. As in so many other areas, including the war's outbreak, the Netanyahu government blithely blundered about, oblivious to the worsening situation, until human tragedy and a growing international firestorm finally forced it to make an inglorious about-face and begin pouring aid into Gaza.
