GUWAHATI: A team from Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) in Andhra Pradesh met Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in Guwahati on Friday (August 1, 2025), seeking land for the construction of a Lord Venkateswara temple in the State.

TTD chairman B.R. Naidu, who led the team, requested five acres in Guwahati to establish the temple. The Chief Minister appreciated the initiative and agreed to provide the required land.

TTD Board to expand temple operations and welfare of devotees

The TTD said that the initiative would enhance the spiritual atmosphere of the northeast and help promote culture. The proposed temple would also complement the religious significance of Guwahati’s iconic Kamakhya temple, it said.
