WASHINGTON -- The U.S. is set to impose new "reciprocal" tariff rates on Friday local time, with even countries that successfully negotiated down their rates facing an increase in duties.

President Donald Trump will sign an executive order Thursday night to put the new tariffs in place. As the deadline for talks approaches, Washington has concluded a string of deals with major trading partners.
