Fernando Eduardo Artese, one of two Italians who were held for a number of days at the 'Alligator Alcatraz' migrant-detention centre in Florida, has returned to Italy, the foreign ministry said on Thursday.
After being taken to the facility, which gets its name from the fact that it is surrounded by 'alligator infested waters' in the Everglades, Artese and the other Italian, Gaetano Cateno Mirabella Costa, were transferred to another facility in Florida, at Krome.
The ministry said it continues to follow Costa's case and give him assistance.
