Rainfall particularly heavy in Eastern and Southern districts, forecaster says it may cause landslides
Hong Kong’s weather forecaster has downgraded its first black rainstorm warning of the year to amber, but warned of landslide risks due to heavy downpours.
The Hong Kong Observatory said on Tuesday that rainfall had been particularly heavy in the Eastern and Southern districts, noting it might cause landslides and calling on residents to stay away from slopes.
Water also tumbled down a slope in what looked like waterfalls along Yiu Hing Road in Shau Kei Wan.
A flooding case concerning a roundabout on Chai Wan Road has been reported, with the Drainage Services Department saying it has deployed 110 emergency teams to inspect 240 blackspots.
