An ENT hands-on workshop and demonstration on “Percutaneous Tracheostomy” was conducted by Narayana Medciti Multi-speciality Hospital on Sunday.
As many as 70 ENT surgery residents attended the CME programme. Organising chairman Dr. Suresh Velagapudi demonstrated the technique of percutaneous tracheostomy. The faculty emphasised on the need of percutaneous tracheostomy, which can be performed under local anaesthesia with less damage. It is easier to perform in a few minutes it is a new technique, according to a statement issued by the hospital.
Dr. T. Narayana Rao, CMD of the hospital, stressed on the need for academic workshops for resident doctors. Popular ENT specialists Dr. M.V. Appa Rao, Dr. M.V.S.S. Bappa Rao, Dr. T. Krishna Kishore, Dr. S.K.E. Appa Rao, Dr. B. Annapurna Rao, Dr. Naveen Kumar, and Dr. Kiran Kumar Nandivada, orthopaedic and trauma surgeon, provided insights and assisted the resident doctors in practising the procedure.
