Maoist SZCM, East Bastar division in-charge Nagaraju, his wife Aruna surrendered before DGP Harish Kumar Gupta

CPI (Maoist) East Bastar divisional committee in-charge and State zonal committee member (SZCM) Jorige Nagaraju alias Kamalesh and his wife Medaka Jyoteeswari alias Aruna, divisional committee member surrendered before Director General of Police (DGP) Harish Kumar Gupta in Vijayawada on Saturday (July 26, 2025).

Nagaraju, a native of Poranki village, Krishna district, served in various cadres in the banned Maoist party for 34 years and carries a reward of ₹20 lakh on his head. His wife Aruna, who hails from Kappaladoddi village in Krishna district, worked in various cadres in the party for 30 years. “Government announced a reward of ₹5 lakh on her head,” the DGP said at a press conference.
