In a freak accident, a car allegedly being driven by an intoxicated person, went out of control and landed on top of a compound wall of a house in Dundigal on the city outskirts on Friday morning. No one was injured in the accident.
The driver, identified as P. Surender, 31, was allegedly in an inebriated condition at the time. According to Dundigal Inspector Satish, Surender was returning to his home in KVR Valley from a party in Bowrampet when he hit the accelerator instead of the brake.
The car first jumped on the road divider and then ended up on top of the compound wall of a house about three kilometres from his residence.
The Dundigal police arrested the driver and seized the vehicle. A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway.
