The NDA Government in Andhra Pradesh has released ₹400 crore through the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) in one year of assuming power — a milestone unmatched by any previous administration, according to an official in the CMO.
“The releases have come at a time when the State’s financial position remains constrained. By personally meeting citizens, reviewing petitions, and ensuring swift redressal —sometimes within hours — Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has set a new standard for responsive governance,” the official said.
Over 35,000 people had benefited from the financial aid, which ranged from ₹50,000 to ₹30 lakh, based on the patient’s condition. “Crucially, Letters of Credit (LoCs) worth ₹89 crore were issued to more than 3,300 critically ill patients to ensure timely treatment in private hospitals,” the official said.
In contrast, the previous YSRCP government had slashed such disbursements, citing administrative bottlenecks, he added.
“Data shows that during 2019–2024, only ₹897 crore had been disbursed through the CMRF,” the official said.
