In light of allegation of taking bribe for allotment of house sites, Housing Minister B.Z. Zameer Ahmed Khan should tender his resignation, said C.T. Ravi, MLC, in Mangaluru on Wednesday.
Talking to reporters, Mr. Ravi said if somebody in the office of the Minister has taken money for allotment of house sites in the State, then the Minister has to own up responsibility and resign. Unfortunately Mr. Khan’s resignation has not been sought despite the allegation made by senior Congress leader B.R. Patil, Mr. Ravi said.
Reacting to the allegations, Mr. Khan on Tuesday said that his Ministry has no role in allotment of house sites. The beneficiaries were chosen at gram panchayat level and allocation was made based on recommendation of local MLA. He was ready for the inquiry and he will resign if found guilty, the Minister said.
