Premier Giorgia Meloni said Wednesday that there was no difference between what Italy and Spain had agreed to at the NATO summit in the Hague when commenting on Madrid's stance with respect to increasing defence spending to 5% of GDP.
"Italy did the same thing as Spain.
Or Spain did the same thing as Italy, take your pick," Meloni told reporters at the end of the summit.
"We signed the same document.
"I did not witness any particularly controversial interventions (on the 5% agreement) this morning.
