Lindsey Boylan, the first woman to publicly accuse former Gov. Andrew Cuomo of sexual harassment, shared her reaction to his apparent, stunning defeat in Tuesday’s New York City Democratic mayoral primary.

While no candidate has yet surpassed 50% of the vote tally — the threshold required in New York City’s ranked-choice elections — Cuomo trailed New York state Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani by over 7 percentage points as of early Wednesday, according to a New York Times results page, prompting him to concede the election. Cuomo, who had the support of the Democratic establishment, declared that the democratic socialist “deserved” to win the race.

Boylan, who had urged New Yorkers against ranking Cuomo as one of their choices, welcomed the surprising outcome in a post apparently referencing the result.

“Survivors: we fight and win together,” Boylan wrote on Bluesky. “You are never forgotten.”

Boylan, who worked for Cuomo’s administration from March 2015 to October 2018, shared that the former governor sexually harassed her “for years” in a social media post in December 2020.
