Qatar has temporarily shut down its airspace, the Qatari Foreign Ministry said in a statement on X.
The decision is "part of a set of precautionary measures that have been taken based on developments in the region," taken to "ensure the safety of [its] citizens, residents and visitors," the ministry said.
According to the statement, authorities are "closely and continuously monitoring the situation ... in coordination with regional and international partners, and will provide the public with updated information promptly through official channels."
Qatar said the "security and safety of all individuals" on its territory remains a "top priority," saying it "will not hesitate to take the necessary preventive measures in that regard.
