The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has demolished parts of 12 buildings that violated building bylaws in the Yelahanka zone on Monday.

In Yelahanka Assembly Constituency, civic officials took down one additional floor in five buildings. These buildings had built one floor extra to what was permitted. Of these, two buildings were ‘B’ khata properties.

Similarly, in Byatarayanapura Assembly Constituency, civic officials demolished one additional floor in three buildings, two floors in another building. Owners of two more buildings have given an undertaking that they themselves demolish additional floors.

Karigowda, Zonal Commissioner, Yelahanka, said that a strict warning has been issued to all property owners that they must not deviate from the approved building plans. “Any violations will result in demolition of the unauthorised structures and imposition of penalties,” he said.
