Thursday's cabinet meeting earmarked some 200 million euros for the struggling former ILVA steelworks at Taranto, Business and Made in Italy Minister Adolfo Urso said.
For the steel industry, he said there is an allocation of 200 million euros in favor of AdI (Acciaierie d'Italia, formerly ILVA) in extraordinary administration to guarantee production continuity and secure the plants", said Urso, illustrating the decree on the steel industry approved by the cabinet.
The text also contains a provision that establishes a commissioner for the granting of authorizations "in the case of significant foreign investments" and the "possibility for the region to use the budget residues for the related industries".
