Data from the flight tracking platform Flightradar24 has revealed details of the crash of an Air India Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner shortly after taking off from Ahmedabad Airport in India.

According to the flight data, the aircraft, registered as VT-ANB, took off at 09:00 GMT and reached its maximum altitude of 625 feet (190.5 metres; with the airport’s elevation at approximately 200 feet or 61 metres) before descending at a vertical speed of -475 feet per minute (-144.8 metres per minute).

Al Jazeera’s fact-checking agency Sanad pinpointed the crash location’s coordinates, 23° 3’16.29″N 72°36’41.20″E, analysing widely circulated videos. The crash site is approximately 1.7km (about 1 mile) from the airport.
