In his Monday phone call with Prime Minister Netanyahu and the public comments that followed, U.S. President Trump was brandishing a loaded gun at the Islamic Republic of Iran. The gun is Israeli rather than American, but he is clearly the one holding it, as if saying to Iran: agree to a sensible deal with my administration, or I will pull the trigger – effectively giving Israel a green light to strike Iran's nuclear sites.
