The Trump administration gave its sharpest indications yet on Tuesday that the US may join Israel in striking Iran, as US President Donald Trump called for Iran’s “unconditional surrender.”

Trump, who hastily left the G7 summit in Canada on Monday to return to Washington, told reporters that he was looking for a “real end” to the heated five-day conflict between Israel and Iran rather than a ceasefire, and that he was not “in the mood to negotiate” with Tehran.

He added he was looking for a “complete give-up” from Iran, in an apparent reference to demands that Tehran completely dismantle its nuclear program.

Trump’s messaging around full dismantlement had been mixed in recent months as the US and Iran engaged in now-suspended nuclear talks. Some members of his administration repeatedly called for strict zero enrichment demands, but Trump at times expressed openness to compromise — provided weapons-grade nuclear development remained firmly off limits.

“Unconditional surrender!” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform on Tuesday as he issued a veiled death threat to Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and warned against Iran firing missiles at US military assets.
